About the service
Create your own designs and bring them to life with our 3D printing service.
Submit a 3D print request
- Designs must be saved as .STL or .OBJ files.
- Printing costs are charged per gram. See current fees and charges for details.
- Prints may take up to 14 days, depending on demand and design size.
How to submit a request
- Prepare or create your print file.
- Upload your file and submit your request online.
You will receive a confirmation email once submitted. If no email arrives, please contact the library.
3D printer details
Libraries use two Raise 3D printers (N1 and N2) at Dudley Denny City Library and Gordon White Library.
- Maximum build size: 250 mm × 250 mm × 250 mm
- Maximum print time: 8 hours
Longer prints may be approved by staff on request.
Filament, designs and printing rules
- Printing is available in single‑colour PLA filament only.
- Only library‑supplied filament can be used.
- Prints will use the colour currently loaded in the printer.
- Files must be submitted as .STL or .OBJ only.
- Staff cannot assist with designing, editing or remixing files.
- Only staff can operate the 3D printers.
- Models may need cleanup after printing, such as removing supports.
- Print success cannot be guaranteed.
- You will receive a quote and must approve it before printing starts.
- No refunds are available for change of mind or unsatisfactory results.
3D printing and copyright
When you submit a design, you accept full responsibility for obeying Australian copyright laws.
This includes responsibility for the design, ownership and intended use.
Library staff may refuse to print models that are illegal, inappropriate or likely to breach copyright, patents or trademarks.
