Our Collection Development Plan(PDF, 534KB) guides how we choose resources. It helps ensure our collections are relevant, balanced, and meet community needs. It also shares our priorities, so the community understands how we select books and resources.

Seed Library

Sow, grow, save, and share

The Seed Library is free and open to anyone with a library membership.

Similar to your usual library borrowing experience, a seed library allows the community to “borrow” seeds, grow, save, and share so others can enjoy them next season.

We have a curated collection of seeds for your selection to start your growing journey

How it works

Borrow

Choose up to two seed packets per week. Seed packets include a collection envelope for returning seeds later.

Plant

Grow your seeds at home. Let at least one plant go to seed, or collect seeds from your harvest.

Donate

Place your saved seeds in the return envelope and bring them back to any library branch. These donated seeds help grow a diverse, local collection for everyone.

Why the Seed Library exists

Why the Seed Library exists

The Seed Library helps our community:

  • Swap and share seeds
  • Build strong, locally adapted seed varieties
  • Learn about gardening and sustainability

Your returned seeds support future growers and keep our region’s seed stock thriving.

Where to find it

  • Growing conditions (sunlight, watering, staking, etc.)
  • Best time to plant
