Yoga in the Gardens
Relax and recharge in the gardens with Mackay Regional Council Libraries.
Book your spot to attend this free event. Bring your own yoga mat or borrow one from the library. These sessions suit beginners of all ages.
Falun Gong meditation and relaxation
Enjoy gentle movement, meditation and relaxation in a peaceful outdoor setting.

Mackay parkrun
Join the friendly Mackay parkrun community.
Parkrun is free and open to everyone. You can walk, jog or run the five kilometre course. There is no time limit.
Register at the parkrun website before attending.

Enjoy a casual game of bocce at the Malta Garden.

Get Moving with the 10,000 Steps Program
What is the program? The 10,000 Steps program is a community initiative that encourages people to be more physically active. It promotes walking as an easy way to move more each day.
At the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens, walkers can follow a clearly marked 5,000‑step loop. The walk starts and ends near the Visitors Centre. Clear signs guide walkers along the route. View the 10,000 Steps Mackay(PDF, 258KB) brochure for maps and walking information.
