Community rooms

The community rooms within the Northern Beaches Community Hub provide flexible, bookable spaces for meetings, workshops and events.

Designed to suit community groups, businesses and service providers, the rooms feature modern technology, flexible layouts and adaptable furnishings. These welcoming spaces support collaboration, learning and connection, enabling the community to come together, share ideas and deliver programs that respond to local needs.

The ground floor community rooms include access to a communal kitchenette with a microwave, fridge, dishwasher, hot/chilled water unit, wheelchair-accessible sink and hand-washing facilities.

You can also enjoy casual gatherings in the courtyard, that is located between Buildings 1 and 2. The ambient courtyard offers outdoor seating surrounded by lush landscaping.

Things to consider

The community rooms are available for non-commercial and commercial use by businesses, government, community groups, educational groups and not-for-profit organisations.

  • Casual hirers may be covered under council’s Casual Hirer’s Liability cover, but commercial businesses, incorporated bodies and associations must have their own public liability insurance for a sum of not less than $20 million dollars.
  • The hirer is responsible for leaving the premises clean and tidy, including returning furniture to its original position and removing all rubbish. Any additional cleaning costs incurred by council will be charged to the hirer.
  • Food is allowed in the rooms.
  • Hirers must be considerate of noise.
  • Rooms don’t contain cutlery and crockery. Milk is not supplied.
  • A lectern is available upon request but is subject to availability.
  • Storerooms cannot be used to store your equipment. This area is only for storing tables and chairs.
  • Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to the booking date. Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows will incur a fee.
